Role
Design 135
Principal Instructor
2007-2010
Summary
In a 3 year time span, I instructed 11 sections of Design 135. I developed my own curriculum based on what I believe to be the core of design and creativity.
Design 135 is a 3 credit course open to non BFA/BDes students. The primary role of the class beyond instructing on the fundamentals of design is to prepare students who are interested in applying to the BFA/BDes program, by building a portfolio. Students from other faculties take this course as an option to fulfill general first year arts credits. As such, the talent and interest level in the subject matter is extremely varied.
I instruct how I live: freely, openly and passionately.
Experience
I didn't know how to be a good designer until I could teach it.

Examples
The following are examples of 2 students work from my Design 135 Section S4 class (winter session 2010). It was a great pleasure to instruct both of these talented young men and my thanks goes out to them for their permission to use their work as examples of my curriculum.
